Plant Sale to Benefit Habitat for Humanity

Many varieties of hardy perennials will be available, including daylilies donated by the Wisconsin Daylily Society ($5 each) and iris donated by Breezeway Iris Garden. Woodland plants, ground covers, hosta, ferns, iris, sedum, cone flowers, black-eyed susan, along with other prairie plants, grasses and small shrubs are available. Plant prices are $4 each or 3 for $10, unless otherwise marked.

Many varieties of hardy rain garden tolerant perennials will be available, including sedge, marsh milkweed, Joe-pye weed, wild columbine, penstemon, hysopp, aster, blazing star, monarda and others. Plant will be priced between $5 - $10, depending on size, and proceeds will benefit both Pinney Library and Habitat for Humanity of Dane County. Plants will be dug on site and placed in a pot or plastic bag. Shoppers are asked to please bring their own containers, if possible.

 The Invasive Plants Association of Wisconsin (IPAW) is holding an invasive plant field day on Wednesday, August 22nd at the UW-Madison Arboretum. The event is a great opportunity to learn about identifying, monitoring, and managing invasive plants from local and state experts and includes presentations, lunch, and demonstrations in the field.
