Guest speaker will be Caitilyn Alen, Ph.D. in Plant Pathology. GMO use mitigating pathogens in citrus, bananas, coffee and wheat.

She will expound on the exciting research she is conducting on reducing pathogens, such as bacterial wilt, on various crops that have been threatened by disease.

She is an expert on plant diseases caused by bacteria, tropical plant diseases, genetic engineering for plant disease control, as well as being an advocate for woman in science. She is a professor at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
