A Safer Migration for Birds

  • Dane County Extension 5201 Fen Oak Court Madison, WI, 53718 United States (map)

Brenna Marsicek, Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance.

Spring and fall are peak times for bird migration, with millions of birds flying through, to, or from Wisconsin each night. How can we support them, and enjoy their visits to our yards? In this presentation, Brenna will share considerations for adding plants and features to your yard that support birds in their migration and nesting, as well as ways to reduce bird-window collisions at your home. By taking these steps, you can help ensure birds can live and thrive in your yard!

Brenna is the director of outreach with Southern Wisconsin Bird Alliance and coordinator of the Madison, WI-based Bird Collision Corps. She is passionate about helping home-owners, businesses, and communities become more bird-safe and informed about the issue of bird-window collisions.
